On Sunday 22 March, our CEO Benazir was featured in Denise Epoté's latest podcast "Les têtes d'affiche" on RFI. Denise Epote discussed Axle's latest initiative, COVID-19 Africa Crisis Response Index, which maps the propagation of the virus, the response of governments and health officials and information on best practices for policy-makers, practitioners and members of the public.

We are pleased to announce the publication of  "Religion in War and Peace in Africa" by Routledge. The book features a chapter written by Axle on the correlation between religion, ethnicity, violent extremism and terrorism in Mali.

Launch of the Peace and Security in sub-Saharan Review (P&S-ASS) Vol 1, by ABESS and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung
On 17 September, our CEO, Benazir Hilali, was pleased to present our partnership with ABESS and KAS for the publication of the P&S-ASS Review Vol1. The review was created in  2019 at the Dakar International Forum in Peace and Security in Africa. Benazir discussed the role of the Burkinabé army in mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 and how governments can enhance national anticipation and prevention capabilities in crisis management.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Benazir Hilali, was selected as one of 30 female mediators to take part in the 2nd International Young Mediation Forum co-hosted by IPHRD Africa and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The Forum was held in Nairobi from 27 to 30 January 2020.

The African Studies Centre and St Antony's College were hosting the Racialisation and Publicness in Africa and African Diaspora Conference from 27 to the 28 June 2019.
